DatA – Rapture (Video)

I first heard about electronic dancypants music producer guy, DatA from Paris, France through hearing the Pacific! remix of the song Rapture from his Rapture EP that could be very well considered a single since it was just the track with 2 remixes and a sequel. Alas, that was then and now is now– as DatA’s debut LP, Skywriter has been released (sadly, only in Europe) but should be in American soil and iTunes stores soon enough

Hear more of DatA on MySpace: http://myspace.com/0DatA0

Throwback Thursday #4: C+C Music Factory – Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now) (1990)

Legend has it that in the United States during the late 1980‘s and 1990‘s people actually had fun dancing in clubs– to acts such as C+C Music Factory, La Bouche, Snap!, 69 Boyz, Tag Team and pretty much every artist featured on ESPN‘s Jock Jams compilation series. I wasn’t mature enough during the 1990’s to experience the fun for myself, but by the looks of the accompanying music videos (that we’re actually played on television) the imagery of people having fun while dancing is evident.

The C+C Music Factory, consisted of producers Robert Clivillés and David Cole (R.I.P) with various supporting members, including Freedom Williams rapping and Deborah Cooper singing the main vocals as heard above in their 1990 hit, Gonna Make You Sweat. Clivillés and Cole also produced for Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam and many others.

Also, I do know it’s Friday.

NITE CLUB – Good Life (Kanye Cover) (Video & .mp3) & Left Right (.mp3)

I had saw the video for Brooklyn, NY based Richard Spitzer, known musically as NITE CLUB and his cover of Kanye West’s “Good Life” from Poolsidesign and directed by Yuichi Uchida a few weeks ago, loved it then shot him an email requesting permission to post some .mp3’s on the site. He responded earlier today and gave me the ok– so enjoy the Kanye cover and the sure-to-make-you-move, “Left Right” from NITE CLUB’s new LP “My Tronic” available now in stores and on iTunes, guilt free!

Yui, Kaz, and I sat around and came up with this vision of dream chasing through the eyes of a cat . We follow his journey to create music that communicates with the universe. The schematic force that guides him combines life’s struggle with the euphoric feelings in harmony. Like this video, remaking ‘Good Life’ took me on a path that starts out on the street corner then ends up high the cosmos. Poolsidesigns use of animation and visual trickery bring about their own journey as the story continues. One love to Yeezy and Techno my cat for all the cool chords!

Dre Skull – I Want You (Dre Skull Remix) (.mp3)

dreskull_iwantyou

Brooklyn, NY based electronic/club/reggae/house uhh, musician/group, I’m not really sure, but it goes by the name Dre Skull and they/he is/are on Mixpak Records. It added me on MySpace yesterday. I checked out the music and I loved the “I Want You” single on the playlist. I danced around in my room to it, because for those who know and have seen it, my room is a dancefloor. Considering the dancing I had done and the bumping of my head the music caused me to do, I messaged Dre asking if I could post an mp3 of theirs/his on The Cluh. About an hour later I received a response giving me the go, so now everyone can freely bump a remix of I Want You made by Dre Skull him/themself(ves). Check out the Dre Skull MySpace page for more info and music.

P.S: I checked around Google and some blogs refer to Dre Skull as a “he” and others as a “group” and on the MySpace page it shows two dudes on two EP covers but doesn’t really say anything about wether or not it’s a group or a lone musician. I don’t even want to know the facts. I perfer it to be a mystery.
