I’ve always loved the soundtrack from the 1972 animated feature Fritz The Cat (based of the comic by Robert Crumb.) The film was the first animation to receive an X rating. The entire film can be watched in 10 minute increments via YouTube.

The Decadence, presented by Clinton Sparks, Mick Boogie, Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream is the new mixtape from the producing, singing, DJing homies, Christian Rich featuring guest appearances from Pharrell, Shanell (of Young Money), Pusha-T, Ashlie Luckett, GLC, Y-O (of U-N-I), Peter, Bjorn and John, DJ Benzi and more.

It’s dope and all, but whomever originally packaged it for release embedded a 3-5MB uncompressed/print version of the cover for the album art into every .mp3 making the download and put a video that is unplayable in QuickTime (on a Mac at least) bringing the file size to about 190MB. Tsk, tsk, tsk. Being the geek that I am, I re-compiled some things, included a YouTube rip of the video, added a Read Me and reuploaded it at a cool 81MB. Proper.

New video of Virginia Beach based R&B artist, B. Michelle featuring rapper M. Watts filmed with a really expensive pair of Oakley’s. Shouts to Kory and Treezy from Visually Inklined for knowing how to rock a sweet pair of shades.

This track, from Australian R&B singer/songwriter Daniel Merriweather titled ‘Impossible‘ was produced by Mark Ronson. It sounds like it may contain sample(s) from the Zager and Evans song ‘In The Year 2525 (Exordium and Terminus)‘ that was written in 1964, released independently in 1967 and released nationally in 1969. Either way, the song is a good listen.

I would have posted his song ‘Change‘ featuring Wale, but his stupid record label (J Records/Sony) disabled embedding of the video on YouTube. Seriously. I hate big record labels for doing stupid shit like that; especially since I was going to embed it to help promote Daniel and his new album, Love & War available in stores and online now. Click here to see the video for ‘Change’ as the major labels are run by paranoid old people whom do not understand modern methods of promotion.

Jordan “KC” Stafford lives in Aurora, Illinois, the same place Wayne Campbell and Garth Algar broadcast their show, Wayne’s World every Friday at 10:30 during the 1990′s. Like Wayne and Garth, KC is into music and very passionate about it. In the song below, titled Outerspace Love, he speaks of a girl and pretty much states that if she were a president, that she’d be Babebraham Lincoln …of the cosmos.

Joe Tann is a writer, musician, producer and model of Korean descent from Richmond, Virginia. His music ranges from R&B, latin to jazz to hip-hop, pop, blues and beyond. The seasoned performer has opened for the likes of John Legend, The Roots, Nick Canon and also performed at Michael Jackson 30th Anniversary Celebration in NY in addition to MJ’s 45th Birthday Celebration in LA with Brian McKnight and The Temptations. For your downloading pleasure, from his debut album, Nothing To Lose, the song More Than You Know is a clubby 808-driven hip-hop ballad with a Neptunes-esque feel to it. Also for download from the same record, Tann’s debut single, the reggae infused club anthem Night Life featuring Clipse sounds like it’s straight out of the Miami’s South Beach night life.

This one goes out to all my fellow Virginia Beach heads. Nardwuar the Human Serviette from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada interviewed Pharrell and Shae from N*E*R*D. The interview is possibly one of the best interviews ever of all time. Canadian music channel, MUCH aired this interview and this interview/video alone just exemplifies just how bad our MTV really is. Nardwuar brings up Aladdin’s Castle, The Chuck Norris Karate Center in Timberlake (my hometurf), The Military Circle Mall,  Edgar Cayce and other, you-have-to-of-lived-in-VB-to-really-know-about-it landmarks/happenings. I am as surprised as Pharrell is during the above interview right now.

All I’m going to say is that when he asked Pharrell afterward to ask Jay-Z for an interview, Pharrell emailed, texted and blew up Jay’s phone to get the guy an interview.
