<p><strong>Joe Tann</strong> is a writer, musician, producer and model of Korean descent from <strong>Richmond, Virginia</strong>. His music ranges from R&amp;B, latin to jazz to hip-hop, pop, blues and beyond. The seasoned performer has opened for the likes of <strong>John Legend</strong>, <strong>The Roots</strong>, <strong>Nick Canon</strong> and also performed at <strong>Michael Jackson 30th Anniversary Celebration</strong> in <strong>NY</strong> in addition to <strong>MJ&#8217;s 45th Birthday Celebration</strong> in <strong>LA</strong> with <strong>Brian McKnight</strong> and<strong> The Temptations</strong>. For your downloading pleasure, from his debut album,<strong> Nothing To Lose</strong>, the song <em><strong>More Than You Know</strong></em> is a clubby 808-driven hip-hop ballad with a Neptunes-esque feel to it. Also for download from the same record, Tann&#8217;s debut single, the reggae infused club anthem <em><strong>Night Life</strong> </em>featuring <strong>Clipse</strong> sounds like it&#8217;s straight out of the Miami&#8217;s South Beach <em>night life</em>.</p>

<p style="text-align: left;">Professor Hobart Frisbee proclaimed &#8220;<em>Gentlemen, I am an Idiot, an absolute idiot&#8230; do you realize that since we&#8217;ve been cooped up here that music has changed, and changed considerably. I&#8217;ve been completely unaware of this situation. </blockquote>
<p style="text-align: left;">The 1948 film, <strong>A Song Is Born</strong> was produced by <strong>Samuel Goldwyn</strong> (the &#8216;G&#8217; in MGM) and directed by influential director,<strong> Howard Hawks </strong>whom also directed the original <strong>Scarface</strong> produced by Hollywood legend <strong>Howard Hughes</strong>. The film starring<strong> Danny Kaye </strong>and <strong>Virginia Mayo </strong>is a musical and Technicolor remake of the 1941 film, <strong>Ball of Fire</strong> with<strong> Gary Cooper</strong>. The plot focuses on a professor writing an encyclopedia about music with fellow scholars and are introduced to jazz by two black window washers <strong>Buck and Bubbles</strong> played by the performance group of the same name with <strong>Ford L. Buck</strong> and <strong>John W. &#8216;Bubbles&#8217; Sublett</strong> (whom talent at dancing was the inspiration for <strong>Michael Jackson</strong>&#8216;s naming of his famed pet chimpanzee.)</p>
<p align="center"><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="800" height="420" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Amug2YDZGAc&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1&amp;rel=0&amp;color1=0x006699&amp;color2=0x54abd6" /><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="800" height="420" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Amug2YDZGAc&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1&amp;rel=0&amp;color1=0x006699&amp;color2=0x54abd6" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">The movie also starred musical legends <strong>Tommy Dorsey, Benny Goodman, Louis Armstrong, Lionel Hampton</strong> and <strong>Benny Carter</strong> in addition to other other musical acts of the era. I haven&#8217;t actually seen the film yet, but I stumbled across it today on YouTube while researching Louis Armstrong. Anyone seriously into music definitely should see it. It&#8217;s available for viewing on <a href="http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=8CB0BDBD09F5AB79">YouTube</a> and it can be purchased on DVD for relatively cheap on <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Song-Born-Danny-Kaye/dp/B001PPLINW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;s=dvd&amp;qid=1247172854&amp;sr=8-1">Amazon.com</a>.</p>
